I cultivate gratitude. I notice the fortunate events that happen each day. I count my blessings. I keep a journal where I write about the things that I am thankful for.

I practice random acts of kindness. I do favors for strangers. I tip generously and leave glowing reviews for local businesses. I hold doors and help others carry their packages. I bake cookies to share at the office and volunteer at my children’s school.

I appreciate the little things. I watch the sun rise and set. I stretch my legs after a long car ride. I put marshmallows in my cocoa and sprinkle cinnamon on my toast.

I slow down and breathe deeply. I acknowledge my feelings and observe my thoughts without making judgements. I scan my body for signs of tension. I focus on one task at a time.

Today, I strike a positive note. I am hopeful and optimistic. I search for solutions and choose to be happy.
